Position Overview : The Private Equity Research Team conducts industry research and performs fund due diligence on private equity funds. We cover a wide array of investment strategies including leveraged buyouts, growth equity, and distressed investing. The team is located in Boston, MA and San Francisco / Menlo Park, CA and has two senior Investment Directors supported by four Investment Associates. Investment Associates complete an in-depth training program and receive ongoing training and mentorship from senior Investment Directors. We seek candidates interested in growing with our research team for a minimum of 2-3 years, as deep knowledge and experience are vital for maximizing an IA’s impact at C|A. Job Responsibilities : Assist senior team members in developing house opinions on private equity fund managers and markets through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. Utilize analytical frameworks and develop unique analyses to evaluate private equity funds based on organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio companies, and other key attributes. Source new investment opportunities via C|A’s network, advisor relationships, and industry sources; input and track opportunities using Salesforce CRM system. Monitor existing managers by attending and participating in meetings with fund general partners and senior personnel. Enhance ESG data, analytics, and capabilities to support investment decisions, monitoring, reporting, and value creation. Produce investment recommendations and due diligence reports, including meeting summaries, in-depth reports, and industry white papers. Lead reference calls with portfolio company CEOs and industry participants. Serve as a resource for colleagues seeking information on investment opportunities, data, analysis, and manager comparisons. Participate in firm-wide meetings to discuss private equity and venture capital markets. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree (any major) with a record of achievement. Interest in investments with 0-3 years of work experience. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Leadership, integrity, and initiative. Excellent written communication skills. Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior investment managers. Strong Excel skills preferred. Ability to work independently and in teams under tight deadlines. Willingness and ability to travel domestically. The base salary range is $80,000 - $88,000. The role includes an annual performance bonus and benefits.
