Job Description The SBS West Farms Youth Project Director provides strategic and operational oversight of youth workforce development programs funded by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS). This position is responsible for ensuring program quality, contractual compliance, budget performance, and partnership engagement, including direct support to subcontractor Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation on financial literacy implementation. The Director leads a dynamic team, engages the broader community, and applies strong analytical and leadership skills to drive outcomes that empower people through education, employment, and life skills development. Key Responsibilities: Program Oversight & Strategic Leadership Lead the overall planning, execution, and performance of youth workforce programs at the West Farms site under the SBS contract. Oversee subcontract management, particularly financial literacy programming provided through Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration. Ensure alignment of program activities with contract goals, youth development principles, and organizational mission. Community Engagement & Partnership Development Build and sustain strong relationships with local schools, community-based organizations, employers, and public agencies. Represent the West Farms program in community forums, youth-focused coalitions, neighborhood events, and advisory boards. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and co-create responsive programming for youth and families. Contract Compliance & Data Management Ensure all contractual benchmarks, deliverables, and enrollment targets are met in accordance with SBS guidelines. Monitor data entry and reporting systems to maintain timely and accurate documentation. Use data-driven strategies and analytics to identify trends, address gaps, and guide decision-making for program improvement. Financial Management & Subcontractor Support Manage program budget in coordination with the finance department, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and revenue. Provide technical assistance and oversight to Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration to ensure high-quality financial literacy workshops and services. Monitor subcontractor performance, review reports, and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled. Staff Supervision & Development Recruit, supervise, and develop a high-performing team. Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-one supervision, and performance evaluations. Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, and collaboration. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Analyze program data and key performance indicators to assess impact and inform ongoing program development. Lead efforts to continuously improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Stay informed about best practices in workforce development, youth engagement, and financial literacy education. Other Key Performance Indicators Lead by example through servant leadership values. Promote the company mission, vision, values, and brand. Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders, staff, partners, and employers. Set strategy for successful operations considering funder, local area, and organizational needs. Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture. Establish a motivational, collaborative, and innovative work environment that fosters excellent customer experience and results. Participate in business development activities, including contract rebid and new opportunities. Communicate project and company activities and progress to leadership, funder staff, and the Board. Manage fiscal operations of the project, including budget creation, monitoring, and reporting. Manage human resources responsibilities, including hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR. Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training of team members. Set SMART goals for team members aligned with organizational objectives. Evaluate organizational and staff performance and impact. Ensure compliance with contractual and program requirements. Maintain effective relationships with customers, funders, and partners. Administer policies and procedures according to standards. Perform quality assurance and monitoring activities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS/BA in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience managing programs and supervising staff. Senior management experience managing multiple departments/functions, with direct responsibility to leadership or a board, is preferred. Experience managing grants/contracts and financial oversight. At least 2 years of experience in workforce development or human services is desirable. Experience in public speaking. Intermediate MS Office skills. Valid driver’s license and insurance may be required. Supervisory experience in a competitive environment or with target populations. Workforce development experience is a plus.
