As a Traffic Engineer, you will orchestrate the design and development of traffic proxies, libraries, and services that support Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. Your role involves enhancing our network stack for improved ingress, egress, and mesh functionality. Proficiency in one or more advanced programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, or Go Experience with automating operations at scale (e.g., software deployments, configuration changes) Understanding of performance analysis and optimization Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems Passion for enabling internal teams and improving team dynamics Preferred Qualifications
Collaborative mindset to enhance team performance Growth mindset Expertise in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking Hands-on experience with Linux network stack Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Puppet) Interest in open-source projects and meeting traffic needs across large organizations Knowledge of core production engineering practices (e.g., designing for operability and scalability, SLOs, reducing toil) Compensation for this role ranges from $181,100 to $318,400, based on skills, experience, and location.
