Job Summary:
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for leading and managing technology-focused projects from initiation through delivery. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The TPM combines strong project management skills with a solid technical background to manage project risks, solve issues, and facilitate communication across teams. Compensation Range is $110,000 - $160,000 annually. This role is considered hybrid, in the office in Bloomington, MN every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with flexibility on Mondays and Fridays to be remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria. Develop and manage detailed project plans, resource allocation, budgets, and schedules. Collaborate with engineering, development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals. Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives for Agile teams (if applicable). Track project performance using appropriate tools and KPIs. Prepare and present status reports for executive leadership team. Proactively identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and implement mitigation plans. Communicate project status clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Coordinate with vendors, third parties, and cross-functional teams as needed. Ensure documentation is created and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications:
5-7+ years of experience managing technical projects and/or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred) or related experience. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum (preferred), and/or Waterfall methodologies. Understanding of Commerce Tools and/or other middleware. PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is a plus. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, Trello, or Smartsheet. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice versa. Preferred Skills:
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Background in software development, DevOps, or systems engineering. Knowledge of APIs, databases, or enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Netsuite). Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills. Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Hybrid work arrangement with Tuesday - Thursday in office and other days as needed. Occasional travel may be required for meetings or vendor coordination.
