Role World Golf Tour is seeking a

Sr. Technical Artist

to lead the development and evolution of our in-game avatar system. In this position, you’ll be instrumental in rigging new character assets and designing cutting-edge art production pipelines. You’ll work closely with artists and engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality and scalable assets, directly contributing to our visual and technical goals and keeping us at the forefront of game develoment. To lead the development of our in-game avatar system, rig new character assets, and design new art production pipelines.

Contribute to developing new pipelines for other assets

Work closely with artists, engineers, and other team members to ensure high-quality, and scalable assets.

Be a key contributor to visual and technical goals, helping us stay on the cutting edge of game development.

Responsibilities Manage and evolve our in-game avatar system, including customization, performance, and integration

Develop and support pipelines for additional 3d assets

Rig and skin production-ready character assets for animation

Collaborate with animators, modelers, and engineers to bridge the gap between art and code

Support the character creation pipeline using tools such as Character Creator 4, to Maya, to Unity

Create and maintain technical documentation and best practices for asset workflows

Develop and optimize shaders, materials, and visual effects in Unity, when necessary

Stay informed on emerging technologies and explore ways to integrate them into production workflows

Provide mentorship to junior artists and help grow the team's technical capabilities.

Experience and Skills Expert-level character rigging and skinning skills using Autodesk Maya, with basic knowledge of Mel and Python for Maya

Experience with Character Creator 4 (CC4) and integrating CC4 assets into a unity pipeline

Proficiency with Substance Painter for texturing 3d assets

Knowledge of the Adobe Suite of tools, with an emphasis in Photoshop

Experience with version control tools such as Perforce

Experience working in Unity with past projects, including character assets, animation, and blend shape integration

Strong problem solving and debugging skills across different parts of the art/tech pipeline

Excellent communication and documentation skills; comfortable in a cross-disciplinary team

Highly detailed oriented, with a passion for clean, optimized workflows and assets

Interest in understanding of emerging technologies to help achieve a photorealistic output

10+ years experience in the game industry
