E xecution. The Tennessee Titans are seeking a Director of Team Security. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building and stadium security and safety within the organization. The Director of Team Security will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures, oversee security operations for football and business operations and lead a team of security staff. This role will report up to the Vice President of Football Operations. Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall safety and security of all players, team staff and personnel. Oversee security operations for Titans’ home and away games, including hotel security, travel escorts, and ownership protection. Plan and manage security protocols for all events including but not limited to: Training Camp, offsites and away games. Conduct authorized investigations, background checks, and special security inquiries as directed by Titans management and NFL standards. Serve as the primary liaison between the Titans organization and the NFL, along with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies on security matters involving players, staff and travel. Monitor and follow up on incidents involving players or staff and law enforcement, ensuring prompt and accurate reporting to the league. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to address and mitigate any criminal or civil matters affecting the organization. Maintain communication with the league office regarding player and staff security concerns, ensuring full compliance with league security protocols and procedures. Partner with the Facilities Director to ensure full protection in emergency drills. Provide security assistance to players and staff, including conducting threat assessments for personal residences and sharing updates on local emergency incidents or security risks. In partnership with football leadership, oversee the executive protection program for ownership and senior leadership as needed. Lead the thorough search of researching and vetting an executive protection company to protect ownership and senior leadership. Coordinate contracted staffing and logistics for special events, home and away games, NFL-hosted events, and any other situations requiring executive protection. Work with Director, Strategic Operations to coordinate executive protection logistics as it relates to events, travel, logistics, transportation and other activities. Work closely with the organization’s security facility lead in Nashville to uphold strong security measures while minimizing operational disruptions. Address security needs across all team facilities as required. Qualifications:
10–15 years of experience in security and safety, experience with law enforcement, executive protection, military or related field preferred. 8–10 years of leadership and management experience preferred. High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management or related field preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Prior experience with a professional sports team preferred. Experience or the ability to conduct confidential backgrounds and investigations preferred. Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) eligible preferred. Experience in conducting site advances and planning for site security at various venues for organization functions and team travel. Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy. Ability to respond and take control of emergency situations. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment to diffuse volatile situations. Ability to liaison with safety, security, and law enforcement partners. Proficiency and ability to work within various computer applications including Microsoft Office, CCTV and Access Control platforms. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
