We are looking for an experienced Cloud FinOps Manager to oversee cloud financial operations, cost optimization initiatives, and the implementation of FinOps practices within our organization. The role involves collaborating with engineering and solution owners to track cloud costs, forecast budgets, and implement cost-saving strategies. Additionally, the manager will work on building the Cloud Ops organization based on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, providing insights to senior leadership, and creating reports to monitor cloud usage and expenses. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Solution Owners and Engineering: Track and monitor cloud cost optimization initiatives, ensuring accurate assumptions and incorporating infrastructure efficiencies into forecasting. Mature Cloud Ops Capabilities: Help build the Cloud Operations organization based on SRE practices to streamline cloud management and optimize resources. Identify opportunities for cost savings: Detect unused or underutilized resources across all cloud-hosted products, primarily in AWS. Review cloud usage data: Recommend cost optimization strategies; collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to validate and implement these recommendations. Monitor and Report Usage: Track cloud usage against budgets and forecasts, analyze spending trends, and identify the root causes of resource cost increases on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Create Reports and Dashboards: Develop dashboards, reports, and alerts to monitor spending trends and potential cost optimizations. Present updates regularly to senior leadership. Implement and Maintain FinOps Practices: Assist in implementing and maintaining FinOps processes, focusing on optimizing data pipelines and ensuring accuracy in financial forecasting and reporting. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in managing cloud environments, including budgeting, forecasting, and implementing financial controls. 7+ years of experience in cloud-native software development, platform engineering, or cloud solutions delivery. Proven experience with FinOps, including cloud cost management, financial model forecasting, and optimization strategies. Preferred Qualifications Cost Modeling and Analysis: Strong ability to analyze cloud usage, identify cost-saving opportunities, and understand cost allocation and chargeback models. SRE Expertise: Proficiency in tools like Datadog, Vantage, or other Cloud Cost Management (CCM) tools. Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby). In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms: Such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Like Terraform and CloudFormation. Familiarity with containerization technologies: e.g., Docker, Kubernetes. Software Engineering: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or similar. Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies. Certifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certifications (Preferred). FinOps Certified Professional (Preferred).
