We are proud to offer a suite of quality benefits and resources that are comprehensive, flexible, and competitive to help our staff and their loved ones maintain and improve health and financial well-being.Job Summary:Responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of all patients within the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.Primary Duties:Serve as charge nurse, overseeing unit flow and supporting nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.Coordinate surgical scheduling by booking cases, notifying the Operating room and PACU call team in a timely organized manner.Facilitate the smooth and timely transfer of patients to Surgical Services, ensuring readiness, documentation and communication across departments.Admits patient from the Operating Room and receives the report from the anesthesia personnel, assesses and plans for the recovery of patients from surgery.Initiates any necessary treatment for the full recovery of the patient and administers and records any necessary medicationAssesses condition of patient and transfers patient to in patient units when patient meets standards for transfer according to Evergreen Surgical Services policies and procedures. Communicates all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor effectively, in a timely way.License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIRED for the position:Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of WashingtonMinimum of one year experience within the last 3 years of care delivery in a monitored care area: PACU, or ICUCurrent American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hireCurrent American Heart Association ACLS by date of hireCompletion of unit competencies for peri-anesthesia care within probationary period or first 2 months if an employee transferProficiency in airway management/adjunctsProficiency with IV skills and techniquesAbility to identify EKG rhythms and related necessary interventionsUnderstanding of Pain Management and related-pharmacologyUnderstanding of Cardiac and emergency medication pharmacologyPALS or ENPC within 6 months of hireDESIRED for the position:CPAN, CAPABachelor's or Master's degree in NursingBenefit Information:Choices that care for you and your familyAt EvergreenHealth, we appreciate our employees' commitment and contribution to our success.
