Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Engineer with Byrne & Jones, you will lead the design and engineering of complex sports, park, and civil site development projects. You'll prepare and manage detailed design packages, coordinate permitting, and ensure constructability from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design Excellence: Prepare site, grading, drainage, and utility plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Stormwater Expertise: Develop drainage profiles, grading plans, detention/retention and storm water quality designs for complete stormwater management systems with hydrology/hydraulic calculations.
• Reporting: Prepare Technical Reports
• Permit Coordination: Manage permit submittals to MSD, municipalities, and other regulatory agencies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with survey teams, project managers, and clients to deliver buildable solutions on time and within budget.
• Project Documentation: Maintain organized project files, specifications, and calculations.
What You Bring to the Table:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Credentials: Professional Engineer (PE) license or successful completion of the PE exam (required).
• Experience: 4+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in site design, sports, or park development.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (surfaces, grading, corridors, pipe networks).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of stormwater management, drainage systems, and permitting processes.
• Mindset: Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
