About the Role
Sigma, Inc. is seeking a Quality Chemist II to join our Quality Control (QC) team in Salt Lake City, Utah . This is a hands-on, onsite laboratory role supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences manufacturing environments . The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science and 1-2 years of lab experience (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
As a Quality Chemist II, you will play a key role in testing raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You will also support investigations, method verifications, and stability program activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analytical testing on incoming materials, intermediates, finished products, and swab samples.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards across laboratory operations.
  • Prepare, document, and review records on sample preparation, solutions, and investigational/experimental samples.
  • Support laboratory investigations for out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results.
  • Revise and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) , Test Methods , and Specifications .
  • Assist with contract laboratory testing and compendial method verifications.
  • Support stability program activities, including sampling and statistical analysis.
  • Participate in routine laboratory operations, including cleaning glassware and receiving materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and execute projects of limited to moderate scope.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science discipline (required).
  • 1-2 years of laboratory or quality control experience preferred (recent graduates welcome).
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles , laboratory safety, and compliance.
  • Experience with laboratory documentation and quality systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail , organizational skills, and ability to follow protocols.
