Job Description Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Pediatrics
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. You will work in a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital setting, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: - Administer respiratory treatments and therapies to pediatric patients, including bronchodilator therapy, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator management. - Assess and monitor patients' respiratory conditions, providing timely interventions to improve their health status. - Educate patients and their families on respiratory care processes and home management techniques. - Maintain accurate documentation through the Epic electronic health record system. - Participate in holiday rotations and be available for every other weekend shifts.
Qualifications: - Valid RRT certification and South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider license (RRT SC license must be active before start date). - Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). - A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric, neonate, and infant respiratory care. - Previous experience in a Level 1 Trauma center is preferred. - Strong understanding of bronchoscopy, extubation, and pediatric critical care practices.
Additional Information: - Travel applicants must comply with a 60-mile radius rule; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate. - All requests for time off (RTO) must be communicated at the time of submission; no RTO will be accepted after submission. - The ability to float may depend on experience and facility needs. - During hurricane season (June through November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams if needed.
