Position Overview:
Margaritaville's Manager of Beach Operations is responsible for the strategic oversight and daily operations of all beach-related amenities, services, and personnel. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through operational excellence, a strong safety culture, and personalized beachside hospitality. The Manager will lead a dynamic team while working closely with other resort departments to deliver seamless and memorable beach experiences.
What You'll Do: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing beach operations team. Set service standards aligned with the resort's brand and guest expectations. Schedule and coordinate daily team operations, ensuring adequate staffing for peak periods and events. Foster a culture of guest service, professionalism, and accountability. Oversee the delivery of elevated beachside services, including chair and umbrella set up and beach activities. Work closely with food and beverage outlets in relationship to beach service. Collaborate with the Events teams to provide seamless beach experiences. Handle VIP requests, guest feedback, and service recovery promptly and professionally. Lead emergency response planning and serve as the primary point of contact for beach-related incidents. Maintain all safety equipment, signage, and protocols under Florida Department of Health and resort standards. Monitor and manage inventory for beach supplies and beach recreational equipment. Implement eco-conscious practices in line with local environmental guidelines and resort sustainability goals. Liaise with coastal management authorities to ensure the responsible use of beach areas and marine ecosystems. Organize and participate in beach cleanups, sea turtle protection efforts, and environmental awareness initiatives. Develop and manage the department's annual operating budget. Identify opportunities for revenue growth through beach services, rentals, and special programming. Please note that this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. What We're Looking For:
2+ years of progressive leadership experience in beach service operations, beach or recreation management, preferably in a resort environment. Exceptional leadership skills that can inspire, develop, and elevate team members to reach their fullest potential while holding them accountable to the highest standards of performance and professionalism. Ability to lead by example, set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strong working knowledge of Florida beach regulations, coastal permitting, and sea turtle nesting laws (preferred). First Aid certification required. Calm and confident decision-maker in high-pressure or emergencies. Ability to work long hours outdoors in a beachfront environment and be on your feet for most of the workday. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. Able to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods. Punctuality and a consistent record of attendance.
