Position: Senior UX Designer Location: Austin TX USA Hybrid The UX Designer will be responsible for creating a positive and productive end user experience for client applications and websites and for maintaining a user-centric focus throughout product development. Client is seeking a senior UX Designer to help create solutions that improve education technology integration and enable parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders to focus on what is most important -- their students. The UX Designer will play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of technology solutions by maintaining a strong usercentric focus and driving alignment with existing work in the field. They will work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and use strong independent judgment. UX Designers at client location are responsible for: Overseeing UX/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices Translating research into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meets the needs of the end users, in collaboration with partners Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership, on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers, developers, and product managers Candidate Skills and Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Experience Requirements A minimum of eight years of experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or a related field. A minimum of eight years of experience designing mockups and wireframes that align with UX best practices. A minimum of eight years of experience conducting user and usability research. A minimum of five years of demonstrated strong writing and organizational skills. A minimum of five years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills. A minimum of four years of direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts. A minimum of four years of experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma or comparable design software. A minimum of three years of experience ensuring designs and websites meet federal accessibility guidelines. At least one year of experience supported by a portfolio that showcases user research, visual design, and usability studies. Preferred: At least three years of documented experience using Atlassian Jira. Preferred: At least two years of documented experience working for or closely with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or another state or local education agency.
