Manufacturing Supervisor II
Shaw Industries is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to serve the Tufting Department by continually monitoring the appropriate shift operations and ensuring compliance with all company, plant and departmental guidelines and procedures. Responsibilities include: Act as liaison between Department Manager and employees by providing an effective line of communication within the department. Responsible for the execution of SMS Procedures Monitor all departmental production, production quality, processes and procedures and ensure that departmental SMS procedures and instructions are continually followed by all employees Ensure that department machinery and equipment is well maintained and repaired when needed Support and follow Environmental procedures and programs Complete the appropriate paperwork needed to effectively monitor and record departmental productivity, quality and performance Attend and/or conduct periodic departmental meetings When the need arises, perform or delegate the performance of any of the various jobs or procedures within the department while referring to the appropriate SMS Instructional and Procedural documentation Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns Actively participate in P.R.I.D.E. process either through involvement in a P.R.I.D.E. subcommittee or through creating employee P.R.I.D.E. awareness or both Troubleshoot root cause for quality issues such as low-lines and correct if possible. Notify Department Manager or Process Engineer if unable to fix When informed of non-conforming, poorly running yarn, move personnel appropriately to minimize the efficiency and quality effect of the yarn Perform other non quality-related duties as directed by Department Manager Serve on task forces and committees as necessary Complete yarn and Backing inventories on shutdown Requirements include: High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of Lead experience in a manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of Supervisor/Manager experience in any environment within the past 5 years. Leadership, management, and team-building skills Read, comprehend, and analyze data/reports Communicate to employees both in speech and in writing Ensure the work environment is free of harassment and that employees feel free to express problems and concerns Assure compliance of all corporate policies Preferred Skills include: LTO certification Previous Tufting experience Competencies include: Build Trusting Relationships Deliver Compelling Communication Demonstrate Good Judgment Initiate Action Work Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts PM Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
