Cash Handling Experience Required
Position Summary Operates a teller window to provide customers with various services such as cashier's checks, receiving payments and deposits, and other banking transactions. Answers questions from customers regarding transactions on their accounts, types of accounts the bank offers, and the bank's policies and procedures regarding regulations. At all times look for opportunities to cross sell other bank products to customers, including referring customers to CSR's or Loan Officers as needed and when applicable. This position requires work assignment to all branch offices on a "planned and unplanned" basis. Essential Functions Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at ends of shifts, and calculate daily transactions using computers, calculators, or adding machines. Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the documents. Count currency, coins, and checks received, by hand or using currency-counting machine, to prepare them for deposit or shipment to branch banks or the Federal Reserve Bank. Resolve problems or discrepancies concerning customers' accounts. Explain, promote, or sell products or services such as travelers' checks, savings bonds, money orders, and cashier's checks, using computerized information about customers to tailor recommendations. Cross sell and refer customers when applicable. Required to know bank policies to include the Bank Secrecy Policy and ability to file CTR forms and handle cash items. Answer customer questions regarding check availability and any other questions regarding a customer's accounts. Maintain an extensive product knowledge and a working overall knowledge of banking and the various functions of each department. Perform the additional duties as required, requested, or necessary and that applies to different branch locations. These tasks to include running coin, participating in office projects to attract new business for the bank, handling customer research as requested, document imaging and scanning of teller work for branch capture, and assisting with marketing products to promote bank growth. Experience: Six months to one year teller experience preferred but not required. Previous cash handling experience required. Computer Skills Required to know bank teller computer systems. Microsoft Word and other teller related computer software. Other Requirements Tellers must possess excellent people skills. Ability to work with people on a daily basis. Must have a valid driver's license due to excessive traveling to the different branches. Will be required to complete online banking training courses.
