Description
The Lighthouse of Houston is hiring a Director of Development and Marketing with a mission, strategic, creative and innovative focus.
Mission
This position is aligned with the company's mission statement to assist people who are blind or low vision to become independent members of society.
In this position, the Director of Development and Marketing must set a good example and constantly demonstrate the Light (LIGHT) Principles of Leadership, Integrity, Growth, Humility and Trust. It is important for individuals to be committed to a continuous learning environment and a champion for change, with a teamwork mentality.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure and Experience Bachelor's degree in Marketing, fundraising or related field. Minimum 3-years of proven experience in fundraising/development. Experience in digital campaigns, donor data management systems, WordPress or HTML/CSS, managing/developing fundraising campaigns and writing grants. Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute internal and external fundraising events, campaigns, communication, storytelling and follow-up. Identify new funding partners, write funding proposals, and manage and cultivate donor relationships. Manage data entry and data output in donor database system. Develop and implement digital communication strategies for social media platforms, YouTube, podcast platforms and website. Create digital campaigns to engage audiences through online platforms, including social media and website. Create online, social media engagement for all events and programs. Design and implement marketing strategies to create awareness. Maintain and develop print and online materials related to marketing and fundraising development. Develop, cultivate and maintain partnerships with sponsors, the public, media and donors. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with sponsors, volunteers and co-workers. Develops and oversees community outreach. Maintain social media and digital platforms. Manage SEO, paid ads for web and social media. Writing, submitting and uploading press releases. Travel within the Greater Houston area. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical skills and experience in Google Analytics Experience in digital advertising tools (social media ads, Google Ads) Experience working with HTML/CSS on WordPress Experience with digital photography and video Experience building partnerships with agencies and businesses. Experience working and interacting with people with disabilities. Knowledge of managing educational events such as workshops and conferences. Strong organizational, program and project management skills Microsoft Office- minimum mid-level proficient Ability to problem solve, critical thinking and to continuously improve process, practices and tools. Effective communication and writing skills. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities, as well as Team Leader responsibilities in leading, coordinating the work team and reporting any issues or concerns to next level up management for necessary related action.
