Position Summary:
As Concessions Bartender at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires strong knowledge of drink preparation, safe alcohol service practices, and excellent customer service. Bartenders are expected to maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensure guest satisfaction, and accurately handle all cash and credit transactions.
Key Responsibilities: Greet guests promptly and courteously. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standardized recipes and venue policies. Practice safe and responsible alcohol service in compliance with Kentucky state laws and Keeneland policies. Handle all transactions accurately using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies, garnishes, and glassware. Monitor guest behavior and respond appropriately to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Communicate effectively with concession and supervisory staff to coordinate service and resolve issues. Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines, including cleaning equipment and surfaces regularly. Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous bartending experience in a concession, event, or hospitality setting preferred. Must be at least 20 years of age and legally eligible to serve alcohol in the state of Kentucky. Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, drink presentation, and bar operations. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift/push up to 50lbs. Availability to work flexible hours including weekends, and holidays. Licensing Requirements:
A valid Fayette County Food Handler's License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift. A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
