Warehouse Technician
We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Warehouse Technician who is responsible for coordinating and performing daily warehouse operations, including material planning, scheduling, inventory oversight, shipping and receiving, and equipment handling. This position ensures the efficient movement of materials from receipt through warehouse storage to production, supporting organizational needs based on engineering specifications and production schedules. The role requires attention to detail, familiarity with warehouse equipment, and the ability to maintain accurate records and inventory systems. Primary Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and manage the movement of materials from receipt to production. Interpret engineering specifications and production schedules to determine raw material and inventory requirements. Coordinate material flow and inventory planning with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams. Maintain accurate inventory oversight, including applying appropriate min/max levels and updating inventory management systems. Conduct annual inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Perform shipping and receiving duties, including the inspection, logging, and organization of incoming/outgoing materials. Load and unload materials from vehicles and trucks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Basic Qualifications TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required High school diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years of relevant experience in materials planning, production scheduling, inventory control, or warehouse operations. Working knowledge of materials management and inventory control principles. Experience using materials management systems or inventory software (e.g., ERP, MRP systems). Ability to interpret production schedules and engineering specifications to plan material flow. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address issues that require analysis and discretion. Effective communication skills to coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams. Basic understanding of warehousing operations, material handling, and logistics. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field. Hands-on experience with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Knowledge of raw material sourcing and planning based on production engineering specifications. Familiarity with lean inventory practices or just-in-time (JIT) material flow concepts. Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment with cross-functional teams. Ability to analyze inventory trends and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. Forklift certification or familiarity with warehouse equipment is a plus.
