Strategy and Business Development Associate

We are currently seeking a Strategy and Business Development Associate to join our team supporting DEPCOM Power. DEPCOM Power is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, focused on delivering large utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, as well as providing development, operations, and maintenance support to its clients. The ideal candidate will bring the abilities to synthesize and effectively communicate complex strategies and initiatives, and quantitatively analyze the potential outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication skills paired with financial modeling acumen are a must for this role. In this role you will work with senior leadership to help drive and shape the most pressing strategic priorities for DEPCOM Power. What You Will Do In Your Role

Collaborate with DEPCOM leadership on key strategic initiatives that include new growth initiatives, new business units or service lines, capital allocation decisions, strategic planning and forecasting, and project finance and structuring opportunities. Effectively distill, prioritize, and frame up key initiatives and concisely and accurately communicate the same to DEPCOM and KES/KII senior leadership. Drive strong economic thinking (applying decision making frameworks, marginal analysis, key bests/risks, etc.) within the organization, and rigorously apply these frameworks in a quantitative manner. Improve the speed to decisions through effective use of PBM economic thinking principles. Develop this capability in others through coaching. Proactively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. This includes working with colleagues across DEPCOM, KES, KII, and external partners. Evaluate the cost structure and profitability of various customers, product lines, geographies, business units, etc. to inform strategic decisions including capital investment, cost, pricing, and growth strategies. You will be a member of KES BD team, communicating with the team weekly and through Wichita visits. Further, you will act as the group's lead associate on DEPCOM strategic actions, investments, and acquisitions. The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated finance and accounting knowledge. Experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, business development, business decision support, or related roles. Experience generating complex financial models, and advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. What Will Put You Ahead

Experience working at a leading consulting firm or investment bank. Experience leading decision-making framework processes for large capital allocation, investment, or strategic initiatives. Experience employing KII economic frameworks. (e.g., marginal analysis, cap consumed, EVA, etc.) Experience with data analysis/visualization tools beyond Microsoft Excel. (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Domain expertise in EPC, solar development, or project finance. (e.g., tax equity structuring)
