Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to join our team and play a critical role in designing user-centered web applications that support our core healthcare payor business processes. This is a key position for an individual who is passionate about creating intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly interfaces that meet the complex needs of the healthcare industry.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex workflows, data-driven decision-making, and the unique security and compliance requirements within the healthcare payor domain, including HIPAA regulations. You will be responsible for translating intricate business requirements into elegant and functional designs for applications covering critical functions such as claims processing, care management, and utilization management.

Key Responsibilities:

User Research & Strategy:

Conduct user research, create detailed user personas, and develop user journey maps that accurately reflect the unique needs, goals, and pain points of healthcare payor users. Design & Prototyping:

Design and prototype high-fidelity user interfaces and complex workflows using modern UI/UX design tools, with a strong preference for Figma. Data-Driven Design:

Utilize data and analytics to inform design decisions, ensuring interfaces are not only user-friendly but also effective in supporting data-driven workflows and decision-making processes. Collaboration:

Work closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, define user stories, and ensure a seamless handoff from design to development. Accessibility & Compliance:

Design applications that adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+) and comply with all relevant industry regulations, including HIPAA. Continuous Improvement:

Participate in design reviews, conduct usability testing, and iterate on designs based on user feedback and performance metrics. Front-end Familiarity:

Possess a working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to effectively communicate design concepts and constraints to the development team. Problem-Solving:

Proactively identify and solve complex design challenges related to high-volume data, intricate workflows, and multi-faceted user roles within the healthcare payor ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a portfolio showcasing strong user-centered design principles and complex workflow designs.

Proven experience designing applications for specific healthcare payor functions (e.g., Claims Processing Flow, Utilization Management Flow, Care Management Flow).

Technical Proficiency:

Expert proficiency in UI/UX design tools, with a strong emphasis on Figma.

Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, methodologies (e.g., Design Thinking, Lean UX), and best practices.

Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and responsive design principles.

Domain Expertise:

Demonstrated experience designing complex workflows and data-driven interfaces.

Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and HIPAA regulations is a must.

Ability to create detailed user personas and journey maps for healthcare payor users.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and their impact to a wide range of stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

High attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 46,000 Maximum Compensation: USD 161,000 Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role. Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
