**Job Title: IMU RN (Internal Medicine Unit Registered Nurse)**
**Job Type:** Travel Nurse **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights **Duration:** 91 Contract Weeks
**Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine Unit (IMU) Registered Nurse to join our team for a travel nursing position focused on caring for a diverse patient population. You will be responsible for managing patients in a high-acuity environment, gaining invaluable experience in a mix of medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, and neuro care.
**Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality patient care to a diverse population including med-surg, telemetry, and neuro patients, including those with CVA diagnoses. - Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions. - Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, including students and new hires, to foster a culture of support and education. - Participate in orientation sessions and contribute to team training initiatives. - Follow protocols and guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice. - Manage multiple patient cases while maintaining quality, safety, and compassion in care delivery.
**Requirements:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant specialty (IMU or similar settings). - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required. - Previous travel nursing experience is a must. - Charge nurse experience preferred. - Familiarity with Cerner documentation system preferred. - Active Virginia or Compact RN License required upon submission. - Availability for a start date of 8/25 & 9/8. - Must submit all requests for time off (RTO) upon application.
**Additional Information:** - This position does not accommodate block scheduling but weekend-only requests will be considered. - Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted for this assignment. - Flexibility required as the client can cancel up to 36 hours prior to any assignment depending on census needs. - Orientation takes place bi-weekly on Mondays and will align with contract start dates.
