**Job Title: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nurse**
**Location: Elizabethtown, NY**
**Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nurse to join our healthcare team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to provide care in a medical acute and sub-acute setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering quality patient care alongside a collaborative healthcare team.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with chronic disease exacerbations, acute infections, and varying acuity levels. - Monitor telemetric patients and interpret telemetry data effectively. - Administer medications and treatments, including IV therapy, EKGs, and respiratory treatments. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring patient care protocols are adhered to at all times. - Document patient care accurately in the Epic-ClinDoc system. - Perform necessary procedures such as venipuncture, EKGs, and starting IVs.
**Requirements:** - A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience required, preferably in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry setting. - Current New York State nursing license is mandatory at the time of submission. - BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required prior to starting. - Must have EPIC experience within the past 2 years; this is non-negotiable. - Prior travel nursing experience and charge nurse experience required.
**Work Schedule:** - Shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend and holiday coverage. - Orientation will last for 1-2 days.
**Additional Information:** - The facility has a total of 25 beds and operates a medical acute and sub-acute unit. - Nurse-patient ratio is approximately 1:5-6. - Ancillary assistance is provided by CNAs, PCTs, and LPNs. - Access to respiratory support and anesthesia is available 24/7.
**Patient Care Modality:** - The unit handles patients requiring medical/surgical and telemetry care, as well as rehabilitation support.
