Backend Application Engineer/Developer

on behalf of one of our clients to maintain and enhance the backend infrastructure of a recently launched application. This part-time role focuses on optimizing server-side functionality, managing databases, ensuring seamless API integrations, and improving performance. The ideal candidate brings deep backend development experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for building robust, scalable systems. (****$700 + $30 Allowance per month) Strong support system No computer activity monitoring Training materials for upskilling provided Paid holiday leaves (depending on the holidays that the client observes) Paid sick leaves (sick leave convertible to cash if perfect attendance) Paid planned leaves 13th-month pay Key Responsibilities Maintain, optimize, and scale backend infrastructure to ensure smooth application performance. Conduct regular system updates, apply security patches, and perform performance tuning. Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices. Development & Integration Develop and manage server-side logic, database architecture, and API integrations. Implement efficient data storage solutions and optimize database queries. Build and manage RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support frontend and mobile functionality. Work closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless data flow and a consistent user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, QA) to enhance app functionality and overall user satisfaction. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and provide backend support as needed. Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues. Implement effective fixes and preventive measures to enhance stability and security. Ad Hoc Tasks Perform other backend development tasks as assigned to support evolving project requirements. Requirements & Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years in backend development, preferably for mobile or web applications. Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, or PHP. Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase). Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL APIs integration and management. Experience with React Native or similar frameworks is a

MUST HAVE . Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services and deployment pipelines. Understanding of backend security best practices, authentication, and data protection. Proficient in Git and GitHub/GitLab for code management and collaboration. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve backend issues effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with frontend developers, designers, and stakeholders. Amenable to work PART-TIME Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 12 PM or 1 PM to 5 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment. Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture.
