$21.50 - $26.50 Plus Incentive and Overtime based on Experience. JOB SUMMARY As a driver, you will operate daily routes with multiple stops, managing the loading of products onto hand trucks and efficiently unloading at each designated customer location. You'll be part of a streamlined cross-dock model where you pick up a loaded truck from the assigned loading dock and return an empty truck at the end of your route. Occasionally, you may assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other tasks assigned by your Supervisor or Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver exceptional customer relations and program management. Execute routes efficiently, adhering to designated time frames. Unload products from trailers, using hands or hand carts, ensuring they are placed in designated areas. Physically handle products weighing between 1-75 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds; frequently bend and twist while loading and unloading. Confirm deliveries with customers, obtaining necessary signatures. Address invoice discrepancies with management as necessary. Communicate all errors and returns. Report any short orders if customers do not receive their complete deliveries. Address customer complaints professionally and amicably. Maintain company equipment properly, adhere to safety rules, and conduct pre-trip inspections. Carry out pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities as per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies. QUALIFICATIONS Education High School diploma or GED or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of one year of route delivery experience or relevant experience driving a straight truck. A valid Commercial Driver's License is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and converse in English to understand traffic signs and communicate effectively. Skills Capable of operating a vehicle under various traffic and weather conditions. Meet or exceed company-established productivity levels. Reduce case error rates and demonstrate strong customer relations skills. Organize and plan work activities independently. Familiarity with product and inventory control methods. Maintain effective communication with inter-department teams about routing, safety, and customer relations. Possess good communication skills and basic arithmetic abilities. Build and maintain customer loyalty. Manage work efficiently. Demonstrate adaptability and trust-building behaviors. Proficient in following up and effective communication. OTHER INFORMATION Frequent lifting of products up to 50 lbs. throughout your shift; occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs. Ability to climb on and off the box of the truck. Frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling required. Capable of working in confined spaces.
