Position Purpose:
As a key player in our food supply chain, our delivery drivers are responsible for ensuring that products reach customers on time and in excellent condition. As the face of our company, you will build lasting relationships with our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, addressing questions and needs promptly.
Collaborate effectively as a team member and undertake various tasks to better serve our operations.
Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) of both tractor/truck and trailer to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Report any safety concerns or required repairs in a timely manner.
Adhere to all DOT regulations and company guidelines regarding safe driving practices.
Conduct inspections of freight for proper loading and securing procedures.
Complete accurate paperwork associated with deliveries and freight.
Drive to deliver customer orders following a designated route.
Unload products and transport them to the appropriate storage spaces within the customers facility.
Conduct damage control checks and manage customer returns according to company policy.
Confirm delivery with customers and collect payments when necessary.
Ensure the truck, trailer, and freight are secured at all times.
Unload damaged goods and returns, documenting appropriately.
Maintain a daily log of hours of service in accordance with federal and state requirements.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and trailer to maintain cleanliness and organization.
Secure all equipment and finalize paperwork at the end of your shift.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
Valid CDL-A license.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements.
Maintain a clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years.
Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
Successfully complete a road test.
Possess a valid DOT health card or be eligible to obtain one.
Able to lift and move products weighing from 10 to 90 pounds using appropriate equipment.
