Location: Brockton MA Duration: 6 Months Contract Shift : M-F 7:30-16:00 or 8:00-16:30 Pay Rate: Between $70- $80 an hour depending on education and experience Administrative Responsibilities: Provide leadership and overall management of Health Information Management (HIM) Compliance and Privacy. Lead strategic planning and direction for health information and HIM revenue cycle activities. Ensure HIM goals and services align with organizational priorities. Effectively manage the HIM department budget and justify any significant variances. Complete 100% of employee performance appraisals by the due date. Oversee the discharged not final coded (DNFC) process. Supervise billing staff and their job functions. Provide oversight for paper and electronic forms management. Serve as Chair of the Hodgeman County Health Center Forms Committee. Act as Medical Staff Secretary. Develop, revise, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through the “Open and Closed Chart Review” process. Participate in and report to the Risk Management and Quality Assurance Committee. Evaluate, update, and implement processes in response to internal/external changes (e.g., regulations, technology, workload). Monitor departmental operations to ensure goal alignment and minimize overtime. Conduct monthly audits of HIM operations, including coding, abstracting, prepping, scanning, indexing, and both concurrent and discharge analysis. Provide statistical analysis and reporting of health information data. Consult with other departments on data requirements. Manage human resource matters, employee safety, and departmental risk issues. Serve as the contact person for patient rights processes, including: Inspection, copying, amendments, restrictions, and accountings. Receiving and processing complaints. Providing oversight for the compliance program. Provide HIPAA and compliance education during new employee orientation. Ensure annual privacy, security, and compliance training for all staff. Log and investigate all privacy-related complaints: Patient-initiated complaints. Other privacy issues. Report outcomes of privacy investigations to the Risk Management Committee as needed. Maintain documentation and retention related to health information privacy. Serve as custodian of records in legal proceedings. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Associate in Science or Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management- REQUIRED Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)- REQUIRED Certified Professional Coder Certificate- Preferred 2-3 years experience in Manager position Seniority level
