We are seeking a Technical Lead GSOC Operations to support and enhance our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) functions. This role is ideal for a seasoned cybersecurity professional with experience in monitoring, triaging, and responding to security alerts within a regulated environment, such as financial services. The candidate must be fluent in both English and Japanese and possess the cultural fluency necessary to collaborate with international teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, triage, and escalate security alerts in accordance with defined procedures and SLAs. Execute incident response playbooks and document security incidents thoroughly. Collaborate closely with global GSOC teams while adhering to the MUFG GSOC operating model. Ensure alignment with cybersecurity standards and frameworks including NIST and MITRE ATT&CK. Support Business Operations Transfer (BOT) models as part of global collaboration initiatives. Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the security operations team.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
68 years of hands-on experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) or Cybersecurity roles. Proven experience in monitoring, triaging, and escalating cyber incidents. Familiarity with GSOC workflows, NIST cybersecurity framework, and MITRE ATT&CK matrix. Strong understanding of incident response processes and cybersecurity playbook execution. Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries preferred. Ability to work hybrid from Tempe, AZ or Tampa, FL, with flexibility for other locations (e.g., Tokyo). Business Operations Transfer (BOT) model experience is preferred. Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is required, along with strong cultural awareness.
Desirable Competencies
MSS Security Operations Center (SOC) Cybersecurity-EVM Application Security Experience with cybersecurity automation and orchestration tools. Familiarity with global security policies and cross-cultural team collaboration.
