Overview/ Job Responsibilities
Sev1Tech is seeking a Senior Help Desk Specialist / Ashore/Afloat Installer for the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS). This role provides technical expertise on a critical program aimed at developing, modernizing, and maintaining OIS systems.
The position collaborates with NAVSUP OIS Customer Fleet Support Center/OIS Retail Partial Connectivity and Alteration Install Team (AIT), as well as the Customer Support Center (CSC), to deliver Tier II support to OIS end users across the fleet.
This role is based onsite in San Diego, CA, with travel (CONUS/OCONUS) required for installations and fleet support.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Help Desk Specialist / Ashore/Afloat Installer will:
Provide Tier II and Tier III support, including on-site visits for preventative maintenance of OIS systems.
Work directly with site personnel to resolve issues related to OIS hardware, software, and applications, engaging other teams as needed.
Support OIS application analysis, design, testing, and coordinate updates with OIS teams.
Coordinate OIS reconciliations and resolve Out of Balance issues.
Respond to help desk tickets via CSC, including access requests and application issues.
Perform shipboard installations and updates through Ship Maintenance (SHIPMAIN) processes, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Verify operational status of OIS Retail Partial Connect per SOVT.
Conduct deployment and installation of OIS Retail Partial Connectivity at approved sites, following Navy procedures and installation guides, including hardware/software setup, testing, and training.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have DOD Secret clearance to start; U.S. Citizenship required for Federal clearance.
Certification: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II: Security+
BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience, with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in information systems development, client/server environments, or related fields.
Strong communication skills and customer service attitude.
Proficient in troubleshooting operating errors and solutions.
Knowledge of PC OS, networking, and help desk management in multi-server environments.
Experience developing SOPs, checklists, and user guides.
Prior Navy or military experience is a plus.
Self-starter with leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Navy Ordnance Information Systems.
Experience with Navy Ashore/Afloat systems such as CANES, ISNS, COMPOSE.
Experience in Navy afloat systems administration.
Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Cloud Architect, DevOps, SysOps, CompTIA Server+, Windows Server, Solaris.
