Sr Network Security Firewall Engineer

Our client, a large healthcare network located in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Senior Firewall Network Engineer for a full-time hybrid role. The engineer will work standard hours of 8 am to 5 pm EST and will be onsite 3 days per week, with potential remote work after the initial 3 months. The Senior Firewall Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing firewall policies based on input from the Information Security Team. This role acts as a liaison between Information Security and Networking teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Required Skills 6+ years of experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, preferably in healthcare. PCNSE certification preferred. CCNA certification. Proficiency in recording and interpreting TCP/IP packet captures. Technical knowledge of networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment. Must be within 1 hour driving distance or willing to relocate. Willingness to do on-call duty once every 12 weeks. Desired Skills SDWAN experience. Prisma experience.
