Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Franciscos Mission District. Position Summary
Targeted to the support the needs of Latinx & newcomer students and families in SFUSD schools, the Latinx & Newcomer Services Site Coordinator will work in collaboration with school staff and community partners to coordinate and deliver essential support services to students and families. Using a comprehensive approach to provide youth with academic coaching and support, including individual learning plans, one-one coaching, cohort projects, and collaborating with school admin / community coordinator / counseling / wellness offices to ensure program content complements school goals and initiatives. The Latinx & Newcomer Services Site Coordinator will promote equity, self-advocacy, positive cultural identity formation, healthy behaviors, and self-care. This role requires approaching education and support services as a matter of social justice and acting in the best interests of the students and families we work with.
This position plans and coordinates the service strategy as follows - direct services delivery to students and families at school sites (75%), coordinating, implementing a summer camp (15%), developing the implementation of community events, workshops and trainings (10%).
Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and ongoing collaborative delivery of support services designed to meet the needs of Latinx and newcomer students and families.
- One One Student Success Coaching and the development and cultivation of individualized learning plans.
- Facilitation and Management of group and individual tutoring and study hall sessions.
- Facilitate Good Sam Latinx & Newcomer Services programming with fidelity and in alignment with Good Sam's Mission and Vision.
- Communication and outreach to Students & families in collaboration with SFUSD personnel at site(s)
- Develop and cultivate safe, trusting, nurturing, supportive and collaborative relationships with clients, community partners, and SFUSD faculty.
- Participate in a variety of case-related meetings at the agency, school sites, and multi-agency partners to develop appropriate goals and interventions for students and families.
- Work closely with other Good Samaritan staff to develop and implement relevant services that address the interests and needs of students and their families.
