Overview

S2 Global, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work in its Torrance, CA location. S2 Global is the leading provider of turnkey, state-of-the-art screening solutions for inspection and security, based on core elements of operations, training, and software. The software is highly unique in the industry. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support deployments of our CertScan platform. You will be part of a systems engineering team responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The role involves designing, implementing, and ensuring the stability and integrity of network equipment to enable data transmission services, with a focus on continuous improvement using industry best practices. This includes planning, designing, and developing LANs and WANs across the organization. The position requires working independently and as part of a team on network hardware, software, and communication links, as well as analyzing and resolving network issues promptly. Responsibilities

Design and deploy regional LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, and other hardware, ensuring redundancy and recovery procedures. Analyze network performance, troubleshoot issues, and make independent decisions for repairs. Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Maintain and manage network configurations, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to processes. Work closely with the IT team to meet compliance and design standards. Assess current network state against industry best practices and recommend improvements. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and processes for network management and disaster recovery. Negotiate with vendors and contractors for network products and services. Manage hardware and software upgrades, monitor performance, and troubleshoot network issues. Ensure connectivity of servers, workstations, telephony, firewalls, and other network devices. Configure networks for reliability and business objectives. Maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Manage network assets using CMDB, including inventory and technical documentation. Test network performance and generate reports. Participate in managing network security solutions and perform security audits. Travel up to 50% may be required. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, extensive networking and security experience, and relevant certifications. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Ability to work on-call and travel as needed is required. Physical demands involve sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in environments with dust and electrical hazards. The work environment is typical of network hardware work, with moderate noise and exposure to electrical hazards.
