What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda - Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department - Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath - Defend assigned matters through trial or dispositive hearing as applicable - Document files clearly and concisely for understanding by clients, co-workers, and other employees
What is Required (Qualifications): - 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury - Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED - Admission to the New Jersey Bar REQUIRED - Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and fulfill mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements - Must be able to travel for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Civil litigation experience - Insurance defense-related litigation experience - Strong communication skills in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
