General Maintenance Engineer

The Colonnade Group . POSITION PURPOSE:
A General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-the-house areas. The role includes performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring skills and experience in these areas, along with good communication skills to respond to guest room calls.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparing and painting surfaces of building structures, furniture, and equipment using proper techniques and products. Knowledge in plaster or spackle applications, drywall installation, repair, and finishing, mixing paint colors to match existing shades, and applying paint. Installing and repairing wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the hotel. Performing duties as part of the Fire Alarm Response Team.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience Needed to Be Successful: At least one year of building maintenance experience, hotel experience preferred. Good customer service skills. Ability to identify colors and patterns, measure, and assess repair areas. Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Strong verbal and written communication skills. All-around skills to perform minor electrical, plumbing, A/C, painting, wallpapering, and carpentry repairs. Knowledge of vinyl, paper, fabric, and wall coverings is preferred. High level of accuracy and neatness. Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, employees may need to work varying schedules based on hotel needs. Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and maintain any required licenses, certificates, or permits. Physical Demands: Must lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs frequently, occasionally up to 100 lbs. Work may involve extreme temperatures, standing for long periods, reaching, bending, and other physical activities. Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required. Seniority level
