Senior Design Engineer

Role: Senior Design Engineer Duration: Permanent Location: Tuas Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for bigger projects of Design Department. 2. Plan, allocate and assign jobs to subordinates and accountable for his / her entire team’s assigned project result. 3. Lead, guide and supervise subordinates. 4. Check and approve design drawings and documents produced by subordinate staff under his/her charge. 5. Responsible for the effective implementation and control of the Design Control functions and quality system of the total Quality Management System. 6. Prepare material requisition lists for job requirements. 7. Plan and design electrical switchboards, consoles and control panels according to customer's requirements and standards. 8. Prepare approval drawings, shop drawings, final drawings / documents, short circuit calculations, instruction manuals as required for submission to clients and shopfloor production. 9. Co-ordinate with clients and consultants on the technical requirements. Attend technical discussions with clients and consultants when required. 10. Feedback to Sales & Marketing Department for changes of technical requirements by clients for claims of additional costs and time. 11. Check and follow-up on design and shop drawings with production departments. 12. Assist and advise Sales & Marketing Department on technical matters; provide technical backup for securing of contracts. 13. To continuously institute work improvements for his / her department that will bring cost savings and reduce wastage for the Company. 14. Carry out other responsibilities as and when assigned by the superiors. 15. Follow the procedures of the Quality Management System for effective implementation and control. Requirements; 1) At least 5 years’ electrical design experience in electrical engineering industry. Knowledge of switchboards/panels (marine or industrial) design is an advantage. 2) At least Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 3) Further knowledge or experience in any one of the followings is an advantage and can negotiate for higher salary.
