**Job Title: Intermediate Care Unit RN**
**Position Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the newly established Intermediate Care unit, part of our Float Pool. This position is crucial for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a diverse environment, which includes Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU settings. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. The RN may be floated to other Stepdown and Med/Surg units, though floating to critical care units is unlikely.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Assess, implement, and evaluate the nursing care needed for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. - Apply nursing principles, theories, and current practices to deliver patient-centered care. - Collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans. - Direct and guide nursing support staff in delivering patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and policies. - Perform procedures including but not limited to: A-line management, Bair Hugger System operation, IV insulin and infusion therapies, support for stable DKA, IPAP and Non-Invasive Ventilation management, telemetry monitoring, and peripheral catheter withdrawals. - Maintain an understanding of all standard nursing practices related to patient assessments and care.
**Qualifications:** - **Education:** Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred). - **Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty area (Preferred). - **Licenses:** Valid PA or MSL Compact Registered Nurse License (Required). - **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, with additional certifications as necessary for specialty areas.
