Mercury Systems
We are looking for a strong team member ready to leverage firsthand technical expertise in a variety of technologies and software development areas. The candidate must have the proven ability to successfully work with a team, provide input to new technology directions, and able to fashion robust scalable solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Use established software development agile processes and procedures to perform work
Create fault-tolerant, re-usable, scale-able, and object-oriented programming
Design, document, maintain and continually improve software for Mercury products
Perform all assigned tasks, meet all deadlines, commitments, and due dates for assigned work
Design and develop software solutions that meet defined software product requirements
Analyze, design, and develop tests, and test-automation suites for existing and newly created code to ensure compatibility, stability, quality, functionality, and performance expectations (requirements) are met
Evoke a sense of ownership of all delivered software and work
Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements to existing systems, platforms, and products
Collaborate cross-functionally with systems engineers, product owners, project managers, production teams, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions for new and existing products
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, clear code, and any/all other required project deliverables
Expand, update, improve existing software to meet the changing needs of our customers
Provide support to customers during product development (some travel may be required)
Communicate effectively with leadership, engineering, and other staff regarding software development, capabilities, schedules, and other factors
Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; participate in professional organizations
Requirements:
6+ years of embedded SWE experience with an RTOS, preferably Linux (VxWorks, LynxOS or Green Hills)
Must be detail oriented, well organized and possess excellent follow up skills
Must be a selfmotivated, self-starter, able to multi?task and work independently
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working within a team environment understanding collaboration techniques including pair programming and mob programming when necessary
Understand modern source control tools including but not limited to Git and SVN
Experience with managing work though the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Jama, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Understanding of modern DevSecOps practices and philosophies
Agile SDLC Experience
Experience with Modern Code Testing Practices
Experience with communication protocols: Ethernet (UDP/TCP), serial (RS-232/422), 1553, ARINC-429
