Job Summary:
Chime is a financial technology company focused on making access to money fast, reliable, and easy. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a technology team, focusing on enhancing lending experiences and driving product and engineering execution for various financial tools.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with our engineering leaders to ensure engineering efficiency and guide the team through a path forward to improve and scale delivery.
Ensure that technical decisions support our quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and security goals.
Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer product features.
Build, lead and hire a high-calibre team of software engineers to solve these problems while being hands on.
Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set expectations with team and individuals.
Establish team objectives in alignment with business goals.
Work very closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Risk teams to launch responsible, accessible, and easy-to-use credit features for our members.
Contribute to overall engineering initiatives as a member of Chimes engineering leadership team.
Qualifications:
Required:
Experience with similar tech: Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services (data, compute) and Service Oriented Architectures.
Worked as a software engineer and have a deep empathy towards engineering happiness.
2+ years in a people management responsibilities.
Interest in pushing the technology, people, and organization envelope to explore new ways we can deliver amazement to our customers.
A fascination in how to make teams and people thrive.
Enjoyment in learning and diving into the deepest levels of how things work.
The ability to motivate a team through delivery on aggressive schedules and goals.
