Architect (Junior-Level)
Cimarron is seeking a junior-level Architect to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad - the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and an outstanding work/life balance. Key Duties: Assist in preparing architectural designs, layouts, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior architects. Support the development of conceptual studies, renderings, and reports to aid in project planning and design. Conduct basic building code research and help ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Create facility layouts and architectural details using 3D modeling software. Assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and document preparation for design reviews. Coordinate with engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, and contractors to exchange technical information and resolve straightforward design issues. Review and update architectural documentation to reflect design changes or field conditions. Support construction activities by responding to simple field change requests and gathering information for nonconformance reports. Participate in constructability reviews and provide input on design feasibility. Maintain organized project files, drawings, and records in accordance with project standards. Attend project meetings and assist in preparing meeting notes and action items. Learn and apply industry codes, standards, and best practices relevant to architectural design and construction. Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant drivers license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. 2 or more years of related experience. Prior experience in facility design, layout, architectural detailing, and building code analysis. Experience with Revit modeling and creating architectural renderings. Experience with CADD applications, such as Revit. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and construction methods. Understanding of interdisciplinary work processes across engineering and project teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information. Ability to effectively resolve design issues in collaboration with team members, suppliers, other engineering disciplines, construction, and clients. Bachelors degree (or international equivalent). Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: Registered Architect. Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense. Experience with procurement automation tools. Thorough knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact. Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
