Senior Automation Software Engineer - Critical Infrastructure Atlanta, GA| Full-Time | Remote About the Role: A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Automation Software Engineer to lead PLC development for hyperscale data centers (10-200MW+). You'll own the full software lifecycle-from architecture to commissioning-on Tier III/IV mission-critical infrastructure. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for engineers who thrive under pressure and want to shape the backbone of global digital infrastructure. What You'll Do: Design and program PLC logic for HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling systems Lead Level 2-5 commissioning and on-site troubleshooting Collaborate with SCADA engineers and field teams to ensure seamless integration Implement secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant control strategies Maintain code standards and mentor junior engineers What You Bring: 8+ years of hands-on PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred) Experience with large-scale data centers or other 24/7 critical facilities Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC-UA, etc.) Familiarity with SCADA platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA, etc.) Calm, clear communicator with a knack for solving complex field issues Bonus Points: Certifications like Rockwell CPIN, Cisco CCNA-Industrial, or ISA CAP Experience with VLANs, OT networks, and cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443) Travel & Relocation Up to 75% travel across the U.S. Why Join?: Competitive salary (often above market for top talent) Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, parental leave Professional development support and licensing assistance
