Lead Technical Associate

Work Schedule:
8:00 PM to 8:00 AM 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.
Position Summary
Reports directly to the Rubber Engineering Manager and indirectly to the Rubber Production Supervisors. Provides technical support, primarily mechanical, to production operations. Operates, sets up, adjusts, changes over, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all departmental production equipment. Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation. Provides leadership and training for associates on the production floor. Must project a positive attitude with excellent team skills. Interacts with machine shop personnel to resolve and improve equipment operation and processes.
Essential Functions
Provides leadership in a team environment. Trains and directs Technical Associates, Set-ups, and Operators on proper set-ups and equipment repairs. Trains Technical Associates in methodical problem-solving techniques. Coordinates with engineering and technicians to complete required projects. Uses resources across departments as needed. Organizes and leads improvement projects in collaboration with engineers and supervisors. Performs preventive maintenance as per PM schedules or as required. Audits PM procedures and activities. Tracks and ensures completion of PMs in the system. Analyzes equipment failures and modifies PM tasks as needed. Sets up and debugs equipment according to documented specifications. Maintains equipment for proper operation within defined quality and quantity limits. Records downtime and maintenance information in equipment logs. Reports major problems to supervision. Coordinates major repairs and issues with technical teams. Verifies machine start-up and safety mechanisms. Monitors equipment for top performance. Records downtime data as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
Supports upstream and downstream operations. Maintains cleanliness of the toolbox and work area. Verifies that work areas remain clean throughout the shift. Leads shift meetings for designated production areas. Provides feedback on peers upon request.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma required. Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent preferred.
Coursework (or Equivalent Experience)
Introduction to Computers Drive Systems Hydraulics and Pneumatics Mechanical Troubleshooting Industrial Wiring Problem Solving for Mechanical Applications
Experience
Minimum 2 years in production equipment maintenance or similar technical role. Experience in setup or Technical Associate responsibilities preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Rubber manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Skills And Knowledge
Proficient with basic hand tools. Knowledge of feeler gauges, torque wrenches, and precision measuring tools. Familiar with cams, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatic and vacuum systems. Self-motivated and comfortable working in team environments. Able to work on and around equipment for maintenance tasks. Basic computer skills including navigation of standard software applications.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct supervision. May lead or assign activities to others performing similar tasks.

Computer Access Requirements
Access to shared network folders.
Training Requirements
On-the-job training period: 3 months. Full proficiency expected within 12 months.
