Men's Apparel Designer
role at Duck Head Apparel. This is a full-time, in-person position based in our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. The Men’s Apparel Designer works directly with the Director of Design & Product, collaborating to create a line aligned with seasonal direction and the Duck Head aesthetic. Responsibilities include: Research:
Conduct market, trend, and vintage research based on seasonal inspiration and brand lifestyle. Design:
Develop concepts for assigned categories, including sketches, color palettes, and material suggestions; oversee seasonal trim design. Development:
Complete tech packs and design sheets for hand-offs, manage lab dip, knit-down, strike-off, and handloom approvals. Fittings:
Participate in fit sessions from proto to production, ensuring fit, construction, and material accuracy. Communication:
Maintain clear communication with vendors and internal teams regarding updates and approvals. Presentation:
Collaborate with the Director to present design concepts at various stages, clearly communicating inspiration and ideas. Organization:
Maintain seasonal boards, updating them regularly. Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales. Teamwork:
Support the design team and meet calendar deadlines for seamless product development and market launches. Ideal candidates: Have a passion for menswear and a desire to contribute to business growth. Are collaborative, energetic, and innovative. Possess excellent style, color sense, and trend interpretation skills. Are self-starters with strong communication and organizational skills. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field, or equivalent experience, with 4+ years in fashion design, preferably menswear. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, CAD, and PLM software is required. Some travel may be necessary.
