Overview A San Diego-based architectural studio is currently looking for a Project Architect/Senior Job Captain to join its collaborative team environment. In this full-time position, you will work directly with principals and project managers on architectural projects, primarily multi-family housing and education projects. As a team member, you'll be involved in all project phases, attend job sites, participate in meetings, and have diverse responsibilities, with opportunities for growth through mentorship in our close-knit, collaborative atmosphere. Over the past 30 years, this twenty-nine-person studio has won many awards for its diverse portfolio including affordable housing, mixed-use infill development, historic reuse, charter schools, university, civic, and urban planning projects. Job Captain/Architect Responsibilities: Lead the development and organization of Revit models, collaborating with both in-house teams and external consultants.

Oversee the preparation and coordination of comprehensive construction documents, including detailed project design and technical detailing.

Ensure all construction documents comply with relevant building and zoning codes.

Coordinate the consultant team throughout all project phases.

Oversee the permitting and plan check process with local jurisdictions.

Establish and maintain project schedules, deliverables, and key milestones.

Assign and coordinate team tasks, goals, and deliverables to ensure project success.

Support quality assurance reviews and assist in maintaining high standards across all project documents.

Contribute to design development and assist with design presentations.

Participate in construction administration and coordination efforts.

Applicants must have the following qualifications: Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited program

8 years experience in an architectural office (Minimum 6 years experience preferred)

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in Revit

Experienced in wood-frame multi-family housing; California experience is preferred

Experience with technical aspects of architecture and assembling construction documents

Experience with construction administration

Knowledge of state and local building and zoning codes, including accessibility

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Ability to self-start and stay on task with excellent organizational and time management skills

Sensitivity to design and aesthetics

Experience using Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
