Lead Operating Engineer - St. Paul, MN

A Day in the Life of a Lead Operating Engineer: Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues across multiple facilities Supervise contractors, evaluating their work quality and ensuring adherence to safety protocols Execute preventative maintenance tasks on critical building systems to prevent costly downtime Respond to service requests through our Corrigo system, prioritizing work for minimal disruption Analyze malfunctioning equipment to determine root causes and implement permanent solutions Maintain inventory of essential tools, supplies, and parts through strategic purchasing Train and mentor operations team members to expand their technical capabilities Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials according to regulations Inspect building systems to identify potential issues before they become operational problems Document completed work, maintain service records, and create detailed repair reports Order parts and equipment needed for repairs, maintenance, and new installations Collaborate with property management to ensure tenant satisfaction and building efficiency Who We're Looking For: 3+ years of facilities engineering experience Hands-on experience with HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical equipment A Universal EPA (or willingness to obtain within 12 months) Analytical problem-solving abilities to diagnose system malfunctions and implement effective solutions Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite applications Excellent customer service orientation with strong communication skills Preferred: 1+ year of trade schooling in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or refrigeration (or equivalent experience) Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management practices Pay:
$36-39 hourly, depending on experience. Schedule:
