This position does not offer relocation assistance. **Job Summary** Working fairly independently, formulates or defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications. Modifies or maintains complex existing applications, using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Works with applications dealing with the overall operating system, at the highest technical level, on all phases of software systems programming applications. Has responsibility for an individual business unit, on multi-project assignments. Guides and advises less experienced Software Systems. The successful candidate can work out of Richmond, VA or Columbia, SC. **Primary duties:** + Using approved tools perform + Storage Administration duties in a team-oriented environment. + Provide technical storage support to Server Administrators, DBA’s, and Application teams. + Install and maintain the approved vendor supplied storage software. + Perform advanced SAN troubleshooting and diagnostic. + Automate routine tasks to improve the storage environment. **Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience** **Software Systems Engineer- 3+ or Senior Software Systems Engineer- 5+ years** of experience with Hitachi hardware and Hitachi suite of software products and NetApp hardware using On-tap. + Knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as 2 years’ experience in Storge Administration. + NAS/SAN storage concepts/administration including NetApp On-tap. + General TCP/IP network knowledge. + General storage administration in a VMware, Windows, and Linux environment. + General knowledge of DR planning and design. + Adhere to Risk Management and departmental standards, policies, and procedures. + The ability to lift at least 40 pounds and work from a step ladder at heights up to 96”. + Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis **Additional Skills (helpful but not required)** : Experience with Hitachi GAD environment, PURE storage, Dell Power Max, Dell Isilon NAS array, and SAN zoning.
