About The Position
Registered Nurse Operating Room:
Duration:13 Weeks
Description:
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room provides direct patient care before, during, and after surgery. They assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room, monitoring patients’ vital signs, and ensuring a sterile environment. RNs in the OR also educate patients and families, manage post-surgical care, and ensure proper documentation. The role requires expertise in surgical procedures, patient safety, and teamwork in a high-pressure environment.
- Prepares and assist in the set up of operating room for the scheduled procedure.
- Verify accurate and complete preparation of supplies, instruments, equipment and special order implants/instruments, pre-operatively.
- Opens and dispenses sterile items safely and accurately.
- Assess' special needs related to patient history, surgical procedure, positioning needs and length of planned surgical procedure.
- Counts sponges, sharps, and instruments with scrub person.
- Accurate charge capture for items utilized in the Operating Room for patient-specific charges.
