Job Description
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician
Profession: CST

License: Must be nationally certified
Certifications: BLS, CST
Must-Have: Strong in Orthopedics and Spine; Robotics preferred
Description:
Immediate start needed.
Candidates will participate in interviews with facility staff.
Facility has 70 licensed beds.
There are a total of 7 operating rooms.
The unit will occasionally host medical and nursing students.
Adult cases are the primary focus, with occasional pediatric cases for dental or ENT.
Typical case types include heavy orthopedic procedures such as total joints (knees, hips, shoulders), fractures, ACL repairs, and podiatry.
Significant spinal surgeries, including laminectomies and fusions, are performed.
General surgeries encompass open and laparoscopic procedures such as bowel, gallbladder, appendix surgeries, and hernia repairs.
Robotics cases include general, gynecological, and urological surgeries.
Urological procedures involve laser lithotripsy, stent insertion/removal, and TURPs.
ENT cases include TAs, endoscopic sinus surgeries, and neck dissections.
Client procedures consist of tubal ligations, oophorectomies, and hysterectomies.
Plastic surgeries involve mastectomies, lumpectomies, and reconstruction.
The average number of cases performed daily is approximately 25.
All surgical technicians must possess BLS and CST certifications.
A supportive staffing structure includes a supervisor, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and anesthesia techs.
The team aims to ensure efficient room turnover and patient care.
Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Travelers will work four 10-hour shifts per week.
There is no call requirement Monday through Thursday.
During a six-week period, travelers will take two call shifts on weekends.
A sleep room is available for staff on call.
RTO requests require manager approval.
Surgical scrubs will be provided.
