Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
VMware Horizon System Administrator
to manage, maintain, and optimize our virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of VMware Horizon systems while providing high-quality technical support to end users and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
VDI Administration Install, configure, and maintain VMware Horizon View infrastructure, including Connection Servers, Security Servers, and Unified Access Gateways.
Manage and optimize virtual desktop pools, applications, and linked/instant clone images.
Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, implementing proactive improvements.
Systems Management Administer and maintain Windows Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy for VDI-related configurations.
Patch and update VMware Horizon components, ESXi hosts, and supporting infrastructure.
Manage and troubleshoot VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter.
Security & Compliance Implement and maintain security best practices, including MFA, access controls, and encryption.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and audit requirements.
Support & Troubleshooting Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for VDI-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, connectivity, and user experience problems.
Collaborate with helpdesk teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
Documentation & Process Maintain accurate system documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for VDI management.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience with
VMware Horizon View
administration.
Strong knowledge of
VMware vSphere
(ESXi/vCenter).
Proficiency with
Windows Server Administration
and
Active Directory .
Experience with profile management solutions (e.g., DEM/UPM).
Strong troubleshooting skills and analytical thinking.
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN).
Preferred:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DTM or VCP-DCV).
Experience with thin/zero clients and related deployment tools.
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI).
Familiarity with cloud-based VDI solutions (e.g., Horizon Cloud on Azure).
