The UNM InformationTechnologies Campus Outreach & Engagement team is seeking a studentemployee to perform hardware support and repairs for user departments.Resolves hardware, software, and communication problems/conflicts/defects.Will interact with customers, recommend, and purchase inventory, and controlsupplies and/or parts. Assists with Lobo BrainBar customer support. Mayassist with device decommissioning at our Surplus offices. Duties andresponsibilities include: 1. Investigates,analyzes, and resolves hardware and associated software and communicationsproblems on university computer systems; performs complex hardware repairsand maintenance on a wide range of Windows & Mac computers andperipherals 2. Providesintermediate hardware technical assistance and support; troubleshoots andresolves system hardware, software, andcommunications failures and conflicts 3. Evaluates existingcomputer systems hardware; based on customer needs, customizes and tests computer systems andresolves configuration conflicts and errors. 4. Installs,integrates, and configures new computer systems and hardware for users 5. Researches,analyzes, and recommends appropriate computer hardware for customizedcomputer configurations 6. Reviews,prioritizes, and processes problem reports; documents the progress ofprojects 7. Maintains ahigh-level quality of customer service standards in dealing with andresponding to questions 8. Performsmiscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Ability to performintermediate repairs and upgrades on a wide variety of computers andperipherals 2. Knowledge of a widerange of computer systems software, applications, hardware, andcommunications 3. Records maintenanceskills 4. Knowledge ofcustomer service standards and procedures 5. Ability tosimultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects 6. Knowledge ofadvanced computer troubleshooting techniques 7. Ability to diagnosethe nature and extend of a wide range of computer problems 8. Ability to install andconfigure systems, hardware, and peripherals Preferred Qualifications: 1. Previous customerservice skills in a technical capacity 2. Knowledge ofmaintenance and repair of computer hardware 3. Investigating andresolving problems and/or repairing as specified by work orders 4. Installing,integrating, and configuring new systems and hardware for users 5. Knowledge of the Windows10 and 11 operating system as well as the Mac OS (a basic skill set such asability to connect to and troubleshoot wired/wireless network connections,understanding of web browser settings, and other relevant areas necessary toconnect to UNM services) Application Instructions
