Investment Operations Senior Associate - Middle Office

Senior Associate, Middle Office Operations Overview The Senior Associate contributes to daily trade operations support of portfolio strategies. Responsibilities include data delivery to custodian banks, communication with traders and brokers for settlement issues, and monitoring unsettled trades. Knowledge of daily valuation processes is essential for working with sub-administrators on corporate actions and portfolio reconciliation. Additional duties involve creating, analyzing, and reporting portfolio data, maintaining short-term investments, and collaborating on large projects such as new account openings, shareholder reporting, and audits. The role involves project leadership, resolving data issues, and cross-departmental collaboration. This position is based in our San Francisco, CA office with a hybrid model of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Key Responsibilities Execute daily trade operations, including transmitting trade data instructions, resolving settlement issues, reviewing corporate actions, and monitoring trades. Calculate and review fund and account performance, including synthetic and composite performance. Prepare and report on holdings, attribution, risk metrics, and portfolio characteristics for internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate with service providers and participate in system upgrades and calls. Maintain short-term investments, working with custodians and sub-administrators on setup and safekeeping. Assist in onboarding new accounts and launching products, including meetings, paperwork, and data provision. Support audits and handle ad hoc tasks and projects. Experience, Skills, and Knowledge 5+ years in middle office, fund accounting, or administration roles. Knowledge of equity, international, and fixed income assets, trade settlements, analytics, and performance calculations. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and work under pressure. Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable. Effective team player and independent worker. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with trade management systems like Charles River, and analytics tools like FactSet or Bloomberg. Education Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting required.
