1. LEAD experience - Must be a leader, will be a supervisor over 4 jr/mid DBAs. 3. TSQL - to build stored procedures Job Description: We are in need of a team to provide off-hour support for a large portion of its SQL Server and Oracle database environment. This Lead SQL Server DBA is being brought in to supervise the off-hour support team but still needs to be hands on. Estimated 60/40 split of leadership to hands on. Responsibilities will include: Serve as single onsite POC for management team, as well as for 1st level escalations from off-hour support team. Will aid in status updates and reporting to management team. Provide nightly DBA duties as assigned by management for SQL Server environment. This will include execution activities on the SQL Server upgrade project, as well as backfilling for existing employees working on the SQL Server Upgrade Project. Working with application owners, as well as app developers on production support issues, releases to production from development, etc.. Application troubleshooting and support as it pertains to performance tuning Brought in to help with the SQL Server Upgrade from 2008 -2012, but will not be solely dedicated to the project. Must be able to work with Active/Active Clusters and ideally have done conversions within environments that are clustered. Uses tuning tools to improve database performance. Additional Information: This lead will work 1st shift hours while being trained in the first month. Once the off-hour support team has been established, the Lead will move into 3rd shift hours. Still TBD: Wednesday - Saturday nights from 7pm -7am. This is a production environment, so that is why the actual system conversions are done on nights/weekends. There are extensive production issue resolution that will need to be handled.

The current scope of work includes the SQL Server environment, but eventually the other RDBMS platforms could come into play (DB2, Oracle, Teradata, Mongo etc.) so any experience with multiple RDBMS would be a plus.

Client is moving to a 24/7 support model for RMAS in support of the SQL Server upgrade initiative and there is a need for a team to provide off-hour support for a large portion of its SQL Server and Oracle database environment. Internal FTE's will be focused on the upgrade while this team will be a backfill for any other DBA duties performed off hours. EVP: The opportunity to work for one of the top 5 Healthcare insurance companies in the US and potentially grow into a management role within one of the largest SQL Server environments in DFW. Ability to support a 1000+ SQL Server DB environment and be apart of a SQL Server Upgrade; opportunity to gain more advanced knowledge of performance tuning etc, within an enterprise MS environment. Long Term opportunity and the start of a new practice.

Non-Technical Skills: This person must be a leader. A problem solver with good analytical skills. Someone who is committed to building out this team and taking control of the growth of the team. Communication skills are important; detail oriented with high sense of urgency.
